Different GUI for VR and Normal..

Post by Tessla » Mon Jul 06, 2020 5:06 am

Hi.. We find it very confusing with the features like lighting, what and when to use and when its viable.. Such as lighting.. GUI clearing shows that there is an option NOT to have shadows on lighting, but in fact there is no option in normal rendering to turn it off.. You can see in the image in Live View and a rendered image. Therefore, this feature must be for VR Mode. But its not suggesting this. So there has to be an option to select the medium the image is to be shown in.. ie.. Do you want this for VR or Rendered Image.. By rights, we should be able to turn off the shadows in Rendering.... Its all very confusing.. You can see we turned off Shadows, but shadows still appear in the Live Render and Final Render.. This feature and others that have multiple options, need to be made clearer.. What is and what is not available in the mode that is needed for viewing..

We find there is far too much guess work, which take soooo much time.. For industry, time is moment so its very important that guess work is minimised..

Thank you for the input.

SimLab supports many different outputs

OpenGL (what you see in Composer)
Rendering
VR
3D PDF
WebGL

We try to eliminate differences so the user can do things once and it works on all different outputs, it is not an easy task, but in Composer 10 updates we have plans to attack this issue more aggressively.

Yes, we appreciate your efforts, very much so. Simlab Composer is a very unique software app. No other software we know of can do what Simlab Composer can do. It has huge potential within industry and education. Animation, Simulation and Virtual Reality are all forms of communication, which can be used via the internet to showcase to any one anywhere all over the world in many formats, but those formats needs to have one setting for the many different media format outputs.

Over the years we have provided constructive feedback and suggestions, and we are happy that many of them have been adopted in new versions. Our constructive points of view are aimed at making Simlab Composer even better and more intuitive and useable for everyone one.

We get very excited every time a new version is released. We give your software a real workout. So issues are bound to be found by us. We are not total experts, but we have a very good understanding of what Simlab Composer can do, and we are still learning new ways of doing things. You have provided users with a great Tool Box, it's up to the users own imagination to create amazing interactive media, which is more than possible with Simlab Composer.
