Re: What am I doing wrong.?
Hi Tesla. I dont know about in v10, but certainly I know in v9 the 'max' on the lights slider wasnt enough to make lights show in some of my models What I had to do was slide the slider to 'max' and then overtype the numerical value - say by a factor of 10 at a time. So if once you slide the light p...

Re: Not 360...
Fully understand Tessalar - I bracket -2ev to +2ev and then create 5 JPG's like the one above (it's 0ev so hence still had the blown out skylights), I use the 5 JPG's to create the single HDR - usually at around 8000x4000 pixels. 5 stop bracketing and this size is enough for me as I don't need the f...

Re: Not 360...
I know you're primarily MAC tesselar - but Microsoft ICE (Image Composite Editor) will stitch together images nicely for a full sphere readily and does a good job of it, all you need is a tripod. Little JPG sample attached - just done with a cheapy camera. The full HDR obviously is taken with differ...

Re: Not 360...
Think it's the height of the VR camera in a 'small' HDR world - a bit like flying at 60,000ft - you start to see the curvature of the Earth, fly at 60,000ft over the moon and it will just about appear as a ball. Most of my HDR's are shot on a tripod at about 1200mm high and this was a problem with C...

Re: Not 360...
Hi Tesslar - I haven't got V10 anymore, but I do seem to remember seeing a 'scale' slider in V10 for the HDR's somewhere, I think if you dragged this out and expanded your sphere diameter it would flatten the curves you're getting. Seem to remember that this sorted my self shot HDR's and was a featu...

Re: V10 Material Library...
Tessealar - I broadly agree, but the time for testing and giving the software a thorough workout as you describe it was in Beta. I am very supportive of Simlab and have been for many years - recommending it to many people - but, regretably, I do think this release has come out half baked. It is with...

Re: V10 Material Library...
This is why I haven't upgraded to V10. At beta, I had to download all the assets, materials, hdrs, objects etc again. As Tesslar says, I have a 2mb download connection and it literally took me days. If I pointed my v10 beta to my v9 directories it scrubbed them clean and thus rendered my v9 useless ...

Re: VR package file size for mobiles and tablets
I know it's not the main item on this topic - but Simlab mentioned that webGL files won't open locally and he's right if you just try to open them in a browser window. There are two ways round this if you want to test your webGL files without having to load them up, one is to run Chrome in Developer...

Re: Simlab 10 Update cycle and extend support option
The above posts prove the point exactly. If you 'choose' to leave Simlab, you can continue to work at whatever version you currently have without spending any more money. 'Choose' to leave the subscription based software and you can kiss goodbye to your models and assets that you've spent man hours ...
