Sketchup Exporter for Solidworks - fails

Post by dawrightau » Mon Jul 18, 2016 12:48 pm

I installed the Simlabs sketchup exporter plugin for solidworks and tried to export my model.

I got the message :

"there is no part template available. Please check your options and make sure there is part template selected, or select a new part template"

Can anyone help with this?. There are many many assemblies and parts in my model. I see this is a Solidworks API message but I cant work out what to do about it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

Hello David,

This message usually appears in one of the following conditions:
1- The user is exporting a drawing which are not supported (at this point only parts and assemblies are supported)
2- The user turned off saving tessellation data to reduce file size.

If you are not sure, and you want us to check this for you, please send the model to

They will be glad to test this for you.
