Specular reflections on every model I export

I am using the USDZ exporter for 3ds Max and so far it has been a good experience. However I recently noticed every model I export has an unavoidable sheen to it as if the specular or gloss value is cranked way up. I checked my values in Max, checked the texture maps themselves, even did some test renders and there is no shine before the export.

It is almost as if the converter overlays this shine to every model by default and if that is the case I am in trouble. Has anyone else noticed this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
